Go West M&M

We have made the journey west and are almost settled in our new Texas home. The 22.5 hour drive was, well long. The first day was pretty uneventful, other than being pulled over by the Agricultural Police for not stopping for the "appropriate inspection of plants and fruits" in our giant U-Haul! The "officer" was really nice, he said this happens all the time, asked if we had any plants or fruit in the back.  I had decided to bring one very small plant from my office, so he said he would need to see it (goes without saying how thrilled Matt was that I had insisted on bringing my little plant!). But we went on our way, no ticket and actually glad we hadn't stopped. That was probably so much quicker! =)

That night we pulled into Catina Street in New Orleans bodies cramped and eyes heavy. Matt went right to sleep and Kristina and I sat up and chatted a bit. Good thing we will be back in New Orleans in a couple months, we definitely didn't do it justice! The second day of driving was so much better. No runnings with the police and the scenery was all new.

The transition has been pretty seamless. We unloaded the U-Haul the next day and since then have been busy bees getting everything settled. I guess for now this is home sweet Texas?
